[music |Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Cold Light]

I do not like the idea of shooting anything, even the evil squirrels that dominate PSU campus. So is it weird that I found the action sequences in Mr. & Mrs. Smith to be incredibly sexy?

"No, baby, that's all John."

For mindless summer popcorn-fare, the movie was great.

Unrelated note: people over age 10 who talk too much about unicorns are disturbed.
Unrelated note part deux: and no one really needs to know about Samira's affection for dirty deeds on the freeway.

Things you want to learn: to silkscreen, to play guitar and to speak Italian fluently
Things that give you the heebies: needles, rickety staircases and mayonnaise
Things you'd take to a desert island: my iPod, sketch pens, and a plate of Pad Thai

If you could change your appearance: no more goofy teeth or frequent blushing
If you could gain a super power: telepathy
If you had unlimited cash: travel constantly, and keep an apartment in New York and a Mediterranean villa
If you could time travel: I have to pick just one? There's something so romantic about the 1940s.

[music |Tegan and Sara - So Jealous]

I know I've changed a lot in the past year or so. I wonder about that sometimes.

I don't ever want to sell out.

[music |The Shins - New Slang]

So I've been home for a few days now, and I finally feel the need to comment on this.

I've finished my freshman year of college. I'm now 1/4th of the way towards graduation and the Real World. (scary)

The most depressing thing in the world was standing in the middle of 2nd Marshall Hall last Sunday morning. Everyone had moved out the day before, and the noisy sounds of dorm life were gone. Trash spilled into the hallway, doors were stripped and rooms stood empty. We were such a tight-knit hall; it saddens me to think that I'll never be living with these people again. Everyone added something to the dynamic in their own small way. Thank you, 2nd Marshall, for one of the best years of my life. Thank you for watergun fights, for snow-football, for '24' viewings in Ron's room, for 3am parties and hall-forts. For drunken discussions, for the complete lack of hot water, for torturing Mariyah, for Quizno's runs. For the Super Bowl party, for living with constant jackhammering, for studying en masse. For our family tree, for dance parties, for hallcest, for pranks and bear hugs.

For nine months, we were family.

[music |Rjd2 - Ghostwriter]

Despite finals, papers, and the stress of squeezing all the crap in my room into several small boxes, this week has been pretty great. Great enough that I did a happy-dance around my room in my underwear. Until Chelsea told me I was "out of control." (her catch-phrase)

I've been running around and saying goodbye to everyone. Going vintage shopping at Pop's. Drinking pina-colada smoothies from Jazzman's by the gallon. Visiting the carnival camped out in the field across the baseball diamond. Watching movies. Being distracted in the most distracting of ways.

Now I somehow need to get motivated and do a week's worth of work in 3 days. Ouch.

mi piace la musica di rock [May. 2nd, 2005|08:56 pm]
[mood |caffeinated]
[music |Blur - Charmless Man]

Colleen and I got our tickets to the Y100 Feztival. The line-up features Garbage, Interpol, The Bravery, and The Starting Line. We plan on driving my little Camry to Philly for the day, seeing the concert, then scrounging up somewhere to sleep that night. "Somewhere" hopefully being my cousin's new apartment, and not the Camry's backseat. Because as much as I love Colleen, I don't want to huddle with her all night in the back of my car.

I bought an iTrip, so we should have some good music for the drive. Any recommendations?

[mood |unproductive]
[music |Tegan & Sara - Speak Slow]

Went for a midnight stroll with Christine and Whitney. When we passed the Wendy's near campus, the drive-thru workers tried to hit on us over the loudspeaker. "Hey pretty ladies! C'mere and tell me what yo' name is!" Interesting technique.

We held Prolog's last open-mic of the year tonight. I think it turned out very well, despite my lack of connections in the visual arts department (a fact I plan on remedying next semester.) I'm proud. The cover is a photo of Ben Goldman's blown-glass nebula; all swirling bits of bright colors on a deep black background. It's sexier than you are.

At this point, I'm ready to go home. Everyone seems burnt-out and in need of a rest. I'll miss everyone, especially a few in particular, but time away seems important. Although I honestly wish I had another year with everyone on 2nd Marshall. And with my excellent roomie Chelsea, who had the patience of a saint to put up with my microwave-ineptitude and generally erratic behavior.

[music |The 88s - How Good Can It Be]

Oookay. As a distraction from writing my final papers, I ended up creating a new journal. I still love my DeadJournal, but lately it seems like all the other community members are preteen goth-punks complaining about how their parents are out to destroy their lives.

So, hi, LiveJournal. Hopefully you are more upbeat.

Last night I attended my virgin performance of a live Rocky Horror. My corset, sadly, is still in need of repair, but I did get to wear a white featherboa. Nate (who really is my gay friend, despite the pesky fact that he's straight) wore white fishnet stockings and a black skirt. I had to teach him to do a sexy walk. It's all in the swaying of the hips, baby.
